75 days of No Workouts & Mindless Eating

After having lost 94 lbs and maintaining for over two years, in a not so blunt manner I’ve been asked why I wasn't thinner if I was keeping pretty active.  I don’t take offense to the question because it’s made me reevaluate my journey.  The reason… yes I keep active but I have not balanced it with the healthiest diet.  My eating habits have definitely improved from how I ate six years ago when I was 319 lbs but I think I have fallen into the trap of thinking I could eat freely because I have worked that day.   

To prove a point I entered a pretty wacky experiment… so what would happen if for 75 days I didn’t workout and I ate without thought of what I was eating?  On February 2nd I went for a 2 mile run and weighed my maintained weight of 225 lbs! No more workouts in February, in March and half way through April!  I couldn’t make it to day 75… I went for a 3.1 mile run/walk 74 days later on April 16th

I hope you are NOT surprised when I say that I GAINED weight from this experience.  After 74 days of not working out and 75 day of a mind-less diet I gained 14 lbs!  Just like that, in less than 3 months, I found my clothes getting tighter and often feeling sluggish & pretty blah. 

Ready to break through this funk… I’m glad it was only 75 days.  The 3.1 miles I did on the on April 16 was quite brutal!  The term use it or lose it really is true!   Ready and happy to get back at it and start on m y journey all over again!  GO WILD, GET FIT!
